What can I do for you?

I have experience in training people of all ages and abilities from children and the elderly to semi-professional athletes. I have also trained wives & husbands to be to get them into peak shape for their weddings/honeymoons. No job is too big or too small, even if you have never exercised or used a gym before, I am able to introduce you to exercise and gradually build your confidence in or outside of the gym and allow you to see what your body is capable of.

I am also able to offer Soft Tissue/Sports Massage Therapy - This does mean I am confined to only treating Fit & Healthy Sportsmen and women. In fact, most of my treatments day to day, are spent treating regular people with everyday aches & pains from the repetitive strains of their jobs or from just everyday life as well as treating people with chronic pain from various different health issues. Some common problems associated with soft tissues which I am able to treat include (but not limited to):

  • Tendonitis/Tendonosis

  • Management of chronic pain associated with Arthritis

  • Relief from Sciatica

  • Muscle strains/tears

  • Tennis/Golfer’s Elbow

  • Joint Sprains

  • Tension Headaches

  • Fibromyalgia

  • Common back-pain including disk-related issues

  • Sports injuries

  • Massage for improved well-being & recovery from intense bouts of exercise

I am also trained to assess pain and postural imbalances in order to help determine what underlying problems are.

Another area which I am able to help with is nutrition, which is widely accepted these day to being one of the essential components to being fitter and healthier.

Feel free to get in touch if you think I may be able to help with any of the above.

The Personal training induction process:

Step 1 - The Consultation:

The consultation will last approximately 45 minutes to an hour. This gives me a chance to get to know you and fully understand what you would like from me and how I can best help you. Here I will look into your lifestyle and help you understand how we can get you to reaching your goal(s) as well as going through any existing injuries, ailments or health conditions that you may have so that I am fully aware of the parameters that we have to work within.

Step 2 - Movement, Strength and Flexibility Assessment:

Once I have established what you want to achieve and have a clear picture of your health, I can begin looking at your capabilities in terms of movement, co-ordination, strength & flexibility. Please do not fear this 'assessment' as it is more for me to see any potential problems which could crop up during your training and for me to establish what stage you are currently at so that I know where to start you.

Step 3 - The Program:

By this point, I will have gathered the base of the information that I need in order to devise a safe & effective program for you. Now you are ready to start training! I will endeavour to review your program approximately every 3 weeks in order to check that we are on track and to progress things where need be. This is also a good opportunity for you to give me any feedback that you may have.
